It isnt too early now is it.

alborgesgut |
nope | ||
|
not to early.
go ahead and answer the 100 questions about Deas. Also, you may want to break the news about Julio Jones to them softly.

Julio Jones has already been discussed enough | ||
|
and it is a long time before the '08 class' NSD

I'm guessing we enroll 18 next year. We won't get all of them (I'd be happy with half of these guys) and this is definitely closer to a wish list, but its a good place to start.

Satan
clearly said he was going to dominate us and the only reason we have done well so far is because they allowed us to.So maybe we can just go head to head with UAB and Troy like they've been doing |

No more CK | ||
|
Thank GOD for no more freaking Caleb King questions! But who will be the topic of obsession this recruiting season? My guess is Deas and Finley.
|
|||
ATLtigerfan |
Julio Jones | ||
|
Julio Jones could be the next state obsession. Deas won't be because if he gets the grades together he will enroll in January. I hope CK doesn't run all over us for the next several years a la cadillac style. |

Re: Julio Jones | ||

Personally I think the good instate RBs (Rogers and Hunt from Daphne) are too small to play RB at Auburn since both are listed at 5'8''.
Jones will definitely be the next obsession across the state and the country; he'll have Caleb King-type offers from everyone in the country. I'd love to have him at AU but I don't feel confident about him right now. |

First thing we gotta do is get this year's sign-and-places to resign next year.

Re: Julio Jones | ||

No, I think the first thing we need to do is play the next football season. That's what all this recruiting hoo-ha is about, remember?

Re: Julio Jones | ||

I disagree. I don't think we should play football this season until we sign all of our prep school guys on NSD next year and our JUCO guys on NSD the year after. I don't even think we should practice.

Target List for 08 | ||
|
Tigerman-
Is is too early for a target list by position for 08 class similar to the one you put together for last year for the 07 group? Or is that info that shouldn't be posted on a public message board just yet. I bet Nick Saban logs on to AuburnFootball.com on a nightly basis to find out who he should be recruiting!

Ausome11 |
i can tell you | ||
|
that we'll have a relatively small class next year.
DBs will be our top priority as well as DL and OL (especially DT and OT), as is the case w/ Tubby every year, also a QB. i expect us to do VERY well in-state next year, loads of talent again, a few names you will hear a LOT in-state (in no particular order): Burton Scott, 5'11" 194, dual threat QB (ath?), Prichard (Vigor HS) Julio Jones, 6'3" 200, WR, Foley (Foley HS) Tyler Love, 6'7" 285, OL, Mtn. Brook (Mtn. Brook HS) Jerrell Harris, 6'3" 210, LB, Gadsden (Gadsden City) haven't heard anything much on specfics on these guys, but Julio Jones is supposed to be "all everything", and Tyler Love is supposed to be an animal, and Jerrell Harris, from what i'm hearing, is straight up nasty (in a good way) but scott is the one i'm most intrigued about, he's supposed to be one of those electrifying players to watch, and i'm pretty sure AU is in good shape with him right now as well as Harris, but Jones and Love are more than likely bammer leans right now, with Love probably being a bammer lock IMO ![]() |
|||
AUinDC |
Re: i can tell you | ||
|
Harris-AU lean
Scott-not sure, probably slight AU lean Jones-the whole country will be after him Love-Bama lock, won't commit for a long time, AU coaches haven't offered yet but Meyer is really after him. |
|||
Ausome11 |
to be honest, | ||
|
i'd say just get scott and harris ASAP and try for Julio, but there's so much WR talent this year i wouldn't spend too much time on him (ala brandon gibson) if he is a bammer lean.
kodi burns to julio jones................. ![]() |

Re: Target List for 08 | ||
|
ATL ill put together one rough one together, but by no means will it be close to the big one ill do before the summer. I know I started this thread, but I need a week off just to get things done around here. Ill still be around but wont answer near as much next week.

Thanks | ||
|
thanks tigerman. no hurries for that list. unfortunately for all us football junkies this stuff never ends. Can't imagine being on the coaching staff. This stuff is 365 a year for them. Just signed this class & I'm sure the coaching staff has been working on a target sheet for 2008 for a long time. Guess that's why they get paid the big bucks. Me....this week I'm on fries......next week I'll be washing lettuce, and in a year or two I'll make assistant manager..........and that's when the big buck start rollin in.........
