He's 7 years old. What's a 7 year old supposed to think? The idea of bad behavior and consequences hasn't fully gelled at this point in his life.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns
denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes
sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." -- Melody Beattie

He'd be thinkin', "my dad whipped my ass so bad I won't sit for a month".

========================= Yeh that is what he should be thinking but instead Child Protection Services would be showing up talking about how harmful is was to his self esteem to get a tail beating!!!! |

Ellen, are you really saying the kid is not responsible? He doesn't quite understand what's right and wrong?

He may understand what he did was wrong on some level, but not how punishment and consequences are applied. Most children that age only know right or
wrong...not varying levels or degrees of wrongness. Say he said a bad word, his parents told him it was wrong and for punishment took his video games away for
the weekend. Then he did this and it's wrong...but when I do wrong they take my video games away for a weekend....7 year olds don't understand that
this is MORE wrong or dangerous than saying a bad word.

He just wanted to do "some hood rat stuff with his friend."
Officer: "Do you know your grandmother has to pay for the cars you hit." Little Boy: " Yeah, well, can my mommy help." Grandmother next day: After the cops left I beat the ever loving ++$# out of him, and I don't think he is going to do it again. Especially right now cause he can't sit down! This kid is definitely going to be a hood rat by age....well......7. "Believe me on this. Please. I have descended into college football's Grand Canyon. I have stood in its Alps. I have gazed at
its ocean sunset. I have attended a game at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. And I've been changed forever".
