As I was preparing for the Auburn baseball game, I received a phone call from my cousin who informed me that my grandparents had been in a car accident. From what I have heard, my grandfather ran off the road a little bit and lost control. They then slid out of control and nailed a couple of trees -- the impact which was on my grandmother's side. Currently my family and me are waiting in the hospital. My grandmother has just been sent back for surgery, which the Dr said would be a hard one due to the extent of her injuries. She has osteoporosis so she has multiple fractures in her hip, thigh, shin bones, as well as a fractured ankle and five broken bones in her foot. The Dr said part of her femur bone was pretty much like powder. To add to this, she has fractured in 3 places her C2 vertebrae. My grandfather was not injured badly other than a few scrapes, but they have found a spot on his brain where he was bleeding, therefore they will keep him overnight for observations. He is really down on himself because he was driving and he escaped with onlly minor injuries. With all that said, I humbly come to you my Auburn family and ask for your thoughts and prayers for my grandparents and our family as we go through this difficult time. I thank you all in advance and I will keep you guys and girls updated when I find out anything new. I fully believe in the power of prayer and in the power of God.
