It means one of the biggest issues the dems have is destroyed. Man made global warming was adopted as "The Issue" by the dems that separated them from rebublicans. Now it's health care, and Iraq. The economy will emerge as the main theme of this campaign and the public doesn't trust either party so far.

Sorry Gshabo my post was a response to Fleeper's. Since I'm editing anyway, Biz's post is important because it shows this is nothing more than a political issue. There isn't one shred of credible evidence to PROVE man as the cause , or even a cause, of global warming. It's all politics, and dueling scientists. BTW How are they gonna know what the temps will be in twenty years, when they can't accurately predict them for next week?

Climatology is in it's infancy, so any data that anyone has collected must be reviewed skeptically. Especially when that view becomes the central issue of a political party. It comes as no surprise to me that there are widely conflicting opinions, even among believers, about the effects of climate change. It shouldn't come as a shock to you that there would be opinions from the right wing, as well as other sources that call things into question. Global warming went unquestioned as a theory, because there are many theories produced by the scientific community. They are harmless for the most part, as most are disproved over time. The problem for me arose when people began to accept this theory as fact, and demand drastic changes be made. This is where science fails us, when it takes what may be a valid, if not unproven theory, and treats it as undeniable fact. Once this is done, it calls the whole process into question IMHO. It can't be proved that man is the cause for climate change. It also is not a given that what warming we may have experienced will be a constant. One can only guess what temps may be, and with a few surprises by mother nature, all those estimates are wrong. As I have pointed out, it happens more times than not, that our long range forecasts are remarkably wrong. I don't have the least fear of global warming, as I think we are many years away from more than scratching the surface of climatology. Every voice that lends itself to exposing this hoax, helps to destroy it, at least in so far as it is treated as fact. This is a great thing for us all.
