Great news for Q. Several mock draft sites back in December had Phil (er uh Pat) Sims going late in the first round as well. Has anyone heard anything
on Pat Sims lately.

Yeah the Jags are actually looking for a pass rusher, it would be a great pick for us.

I'm an Eagles fan and I know end is one of our needs. I would be ecstatic if we picked him, hes the prototype end that we have in our defense so I
wouldn't be surprised if we picked him.

Not sure if he would be used as a end or a backer, but if he gets picked by the Jags he will be used, they are great at keeping people fresh on defense.

he ran a pretty good 40 time and did great in the interview portion of the combine. so i dont see how you could say he didnt do good there

I wish him the best, but imo he made a big mistake coming out early. They say this draft is light on tackles, but he could have assumed the spotlight that was
on glenn dorsey & made a name for himself in 2008.

Interview well and run a good 40 time if thats all there is to the NFL then where do I declare for the draft.

the measurables only make up 10-15% of what the NFL is looking at. That said it could never hurt to run a valid 4.9 when your previous times are 5.0, 5.1 for
example.
If I was scouting I would look for lateral movement and pursuit out of my DL. How well do they eat up space and allow the LB's to make clear tackles. Simms fits that role perfectly and I think he will succeed in the NFL. Hopefully the Titans get him in the 2nd round if he is there. |
