I love A-day. My brother and I are going this year. Can't wait to see what kind of plays we run on offense, the type defense we play, and who gets some
playing time. Aren't tickets still $5?

Who's going to A Day ? | ||

I'm going to take my 11 year old boy down from Ohio. First time I've been back since I visited for a game in 1972. Usually go to the Kentucky games
when AU is up here and will go to the West Virginia game this year in Morgantown. I could use some advice from ya'll though. Although I grew up in Auburn
I'm sure it is nothing like it was back in 72. What are some of the better hotels and are they within walking distance of the stadium? Any good
restaurants? I know Auburn is playing FSU in baseball that weekend but are there any other associated events? Can the kids get autographs that weekend etc;?
Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

I've stayed at the University Inn when it was Best Western....nothing fancy and overpriced just like all on football weekends but really nice to park once and walk all over. Just off Toomers.

Not sure about the hotels, but a good place I like to eat is Momma Goldberg's. Great deli sandwiches and such.

Lunch = Momma Gs. There are now 2 locations. The original location is at the corner of Magnolia and Donahue. The new location I believe is off Samford near Gay
Street.
Dinner = Niffers... |

its ocean sunset. I have attended a game at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. And I've been changed forever".

Auburn Changing | ||

I left in 1980 and came back in 2006 to see Florida Gator game and then the Arkansas State game. The change in size of the area was dramatic. The campus
has grown quite a bit too.

Thanks for the help guys. I got a room at the Sleep Inn and Suites with a good military discount. Didn't look bad on the internet and since it was built in 2006 I figured it can't be too bad. My boy wanted the indoor pool, ha! It's located on S. College St down by I-85. Question is, I here you cannot park near the stadium any longer. Is that true? The guy at the Ticket Office said you can park in the grass off Donahue Drive. Is that a good recommendation and about how far of a walk would it be from there? Other Questions: 1. I hear the Tiger Walk has plaques or stars in the concrete/pavement of past Auburn Stars. Where is the Tiger Walk located? 2. Where is the best place to get a steak and where is the best place to eat barbecue?
Thanks! |
