And there's the rub, poor Yorick. We, even as the world's only standing superpower; cannot possibly defeat terrorists who wish to do us ill by attacking each and every country in which pockets or cells of them reside. To even think this possible is absurd on its face, as terrorism is a tactic not, as warmongering chicken hawks will have you believe; governmental approved policy.

And what of the scores of democratically elected governments the CIA has overtly and covertly overthrown in the last 50 years or so? My point in all of this is to say that the citizens of other countries do not hate us as a people, they don't hate us for our freedom or our wealth; but instead they hate our government's ongoing political decisions which are inevitably detrimental to the overall health of their country; and I can't say as I blame them.

As a relative newcomer to this forum, perhaps you've not had the chance to read my rants concerning China. To summarize, Charles, take any ten items at random within your immediate reach. Observe where these items were made. I'll wager eight of them were made in China, unless you happen to be very wealthy; with the other two made in some other Far Eastern (read low labor cost) country.

Dude, if there is one thing no one is allowed to mess with it is commerce. The Chinese can massacre their own people in Tiananmen Square and the "civilized" world will recoil in horror. But tomorrow they'll still buy their shoes at Wal-Mart. And there's a reason for that too.
