I'm a stone cold conservative. As for the person in the article, I took him at face value. I saw no reason for him to lie. You don't seem to realize that he put himself out there. He identified himself as an AU fan and then he said those horrible things that an AU fan should never utter. You don't think there aren't similarly enlightened AU fans like yourself where he lives? However, I understand the AU fans not wanting to accept this coach as one of their own. He claims to be an AU fan but yet publicly expresses some AU shortcomings, at least in his mind. Looking at this from an unbiased view, you would have to ask the question.. Why would he claim to be an AU fan? What good does he do his team of choice by claiming he is a fan but yet would send his kids to another school. My thoughts are, why could he not just tell the story without ever stating he was an AU fan. I don't think that part was very essential to his story. With all that said, I have no reason to doubt he has supported AU and is a fan if he claims to be a fan. It's kind of like the 30,000-40,000 AU fans that kept "booing" their tigers numerous times last year. Now some will claim that these fans were only booing a coach or coaches and not the team. Kinda, hard to seperate the two when they both are wearing the same colors and on the same sideline. Nor does any excuse for booing your team help your team! These same 40,000 fans paid money to attend this game, several graduated from AU and some even are paying for their kids to attend. I would have to say they would classify as AU fans... Are they good fans, well that can be debated.. Who among us has never disagreed with our coaches or actions of our players?? I dare say none of us!! I personally know several fans of both AU and UA whom have donated and spent more money with their favorite schools than many on this forum have made in the last 10 years. These same fans have freely expressed issues, problems and concerns with their respective teams while still pulling for them on Saturdays. "A true player, coach and fan always wants the best for his school, and you can't have or be the best unless you improve and correct all your shortcomings" Anyone who screams 100% praise for his or her team without expressing any negatives or deficiencies is just a "Cheerleader" (36-0) Order has been restored....

However, at what point did he show any signs of being an AU "fan"?... Because he said so? If I were to say that I support bama would you believe me just cause it is written in the daily paper? There are many signs that this guy is full of it.... Or does not consider his kids future.. Would you send your kid to UT based upon the reasons this cat gives?.... cause the college coaches give high school coaches a little more freedom? What about the academics?... Is that not the most important thing to "most" parents?... Hell even a level headed teenager will consider all the options besides how the college coach socializes with a high school coach.... Why would this guy jump fence over something so small if he were really an AU fan? Were most you bama fans not praising saban for keeping the media out of the day to day activities of bama football?( It was a big deal in these parts about how saban keeps everything close to vest, closed practices, and assistant coaches not allowed to speak to the media.... players kept tight lipped..ect...)... How can anyone now condemn Chizik? Yea there were a lot of AU ...um...fans voiced their displeasure during football games recently.. But they paid their money to do so.. I don't agree with the booing....... but how many do you think left the stadium claiming " if I had a kid, I would send them to bama"? No I do not accept this whiney little assistant coach as a member of the AU family, and if we took a poll I would bet that none of my AU brothers or sisters would accept him..... He wants to be able to brag to the 3-toothed he-woman in the bar that he is a personal friend of Saban and Chizik, so he could get a reach around. Now his plans are spoiled. Spot on, mentone...But dont you know whatever is printed in the media is an absolute truth. I mean just like Saban said he wasn't leaving the Dolphins, oh wait, that's not a good example.
