Lack of performance on the field. It may sound unfair, but we (and basically every other school) have pushed guys out due to poor SR seasons and the like. The
recruits themselves aren't the only ones who view commitments as VERBAL. Sometimes you just make a judgment error and offer a guy too soon or without
having seen him enough. We've essentially racked up this many commits on camps alone, and sometimes a single camp performance can be overrated.

I don't see many of our commits going elsewhere, and I think as long as they stay injury free, out of trouble, and make the grades, CTT will honor their
scholarships, regardless of senior stats. We still have from 7-10 slots open, though if somebody we were after wanted to commit now CTT would be all for it, so
look for us to go after guys that have really impressed, that are more well known. IMHO the guys we've gotten so far are as good or better than many of the
better known players, but how good won't be known for years to come.

I'd like your perspective. On a scale of 1-10, with ten being far above average for Auburn, how would you rate this class so far? I'm thinking 7 or 8,
but i'm a little more optimistic than most. Thanks TPT

McGriff is still a ways down before an offer comes his way. I personally think the kid looked good, but not enough to blow everyone away. Dont see him in this
class at all right now.
As for this class right now id probably say an 8. There are a couple projects and then there are a very good bit that are perfect for what the coaches are looking for. With the remaining I am seeing right now this class could very well be at that 9 level....will wait a see if there is a surprise im looking for after the summer to tip the scale to the top. |

would be 2 or even less, since in addition to the DB class from last year and the one we already have committed, we have also put Harry Adams and DeRon Furr
into DB slots. So we already have quite a few numbers at the DB position. The starters are experienced and solid now. I don't see DBs for the 2009 class
as a large need.

Does anyone have much of an idea on how many more LBs we are expected to take in this class? I know Petey Smith is pretty much ours, but how about C. Hawkins,
D.T. Shackelford, J. Atchison and C. O'Neill? If any of these wanted to jump on board would we take them?
Also, I saw an article regarding Coleman and Evans wavering. Any chance they sign elsewhere? Thanks in advance.

Losing either Coleman or Evans would be a huge hit, but IMO, they may just want to take some visits, get to see some free ball games, and get the press that
comes with the recruiting process. That's just kids being kids.

Vero Beach (Fla.) High Motta displayed good closing speed in drills with his great lateral movement and excellent ball skills. If he concentrated on playing linebacker in college, he has the frame and tools to be one of the best around. He has good height, muscular calves and is really cut. Somebody was calling him Brian Urlacher at the camp, and it's easy to see the comparison physically. here is the Video of the camp , can't wait for him to be ours, he looks very impressive.
