to win in the SEC. This article made me smile, thinking
about how our running attack will fit in the new offense.

In my opinion, you've got to be able to run the ball
to win in the SEC. This article made me smile, thinking about how our running attack will fit in the new offense. http//www.albanyherald.com/archives/Sports/2008/sports062608a.html |

reports of the demise of the auburn running attact have been greatly exaggerated.

I think our offensive scheme will get the ball to our backs in more wide open field to utilize their talents better. I can't wait.
A HUGE TOW FAN!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see just how well conditioned our athletes will be...we've got such depth at the RB position that it could get ugly for the opposition
in quite a few games...

not to speak negatively of the current play by play | ||

but when you are so used to filet mignon (jim fyffe), it is hard to then settle for ground chuck. bramblet and co do not quite bring out the same emotions
that fyffe did. granted, he does a serviceable job, but only fyffe has cast indellible memories in my brain. i remember clearly the moments in the 93 iron
bowl when nix found sanders, i get chills to this day as i hear the call in my mind. the call of the bostic 70 yarder to clinch the game is family legend as i
jumped so high (from a seated position) that my head hit the ceiling of the house (arguments still run over what was damaged more, my brain or the ceiling).
while there are calls by the current crew that get me amped up (go crazy cadillac... go crazy), none bring me to tears like jim's calls. heaven, for me
one day, will be hearing jim fyffe talking about auburn with the love and respect the university is due.

To listen to him talk about AU you could easily feel the love he had for AU. Sometimes I wish that they would play recordings of him when we make a touchdown,
because celebrating touchdowns are so much better when you here JF call it.

mentonetiger wrote: to me, the one thing that really set jim apart... moreso than his love for auburn... was that he maintained the same level of class and dignity at all times. i never heard him say a backhanded thing about the opposition, whether we were up by 10 or down by 20. eli gold cant say the same, a number of times taking pot shots at opponents and not to mention that he has the most convoluted call of a two yard gain of anyone in the business. it may have been two yards on the play, but it was better than any 50 yard run your team will ever get. jim constantly showed a level of class that molded me as an auburn man.

Kev-Mentone, you are so right. All my memories of JF calling plays, I never heard one bad thing uttered from him about our oppenets, to include that other
school. You could hear the excitement in his voice, it made you listen to what happened on the next play-good or bad.
