He speaks ver well for our coaches and the overall team. I'm sure he knows if you come to Auburn, you'll end up playing in the NFL someday.

Does the person that wrote this article have any credibility? No one else seems to think we have a shot. |

A lot of folks are after this kid. Over 25 offers. Plays linebacker and fullback. State of Maryland Gatorade player of the year, first ever Junior to win that honor. 3.9 GPA. Says academics are important (with that GPA probably so). Is interested in a school with programs in architecture or kinesiology. Perhaps someone should invite him to attend Auburns architecture summer camp. http://www.auburn.edu/outreach/architecture/ Work ethic. From the Maxpreps article. One Sunday, Jenkins' dad had tickets to the Redskins game. He asked his son to join him. Jelani's response… 'I'd love to go with you but I have to study for the test tomorrow.' So Jelani stayed home. And dad gave away the tickets. |

He sounds like a great fit for the Auburn Tigers! He has his head on str8, which leads me to believe that we could have a shot! It will be tough to bring him
to the plains with that many offers, but my fingers are crossed.
"Believe me on this. Please. I have descended into college football's Grand Canyon. I have stood in its Alps. I have gazed at
its ocean sunset. I have attended a game at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. And I've been changed forever".

I'd go to University of Maryland for kinesiology, and Auburn for architecture.
I think Maryland is huge competition...Their "mike" LB is always one of the best LB's in the country (because of the system): Eric and Erin Henderson, D Jackson, Wesley Jefferson, and of course Shawne Merriman. Also the home state school. I hope he comes to Auburn though |

IMOO i would think Paul Rhoads recruited this kid while at Pitt and that's probably why he has Auburn on his radar. With the work ethic this kid has on and
off the field, it's not surprising that he's accumulated so many offers. His family values would fit right in with the family atmosphere at Auburn
University.

for Architecture Maryland for Kinesiology. Good point Gfed. In Marlyand, they refer to themselves as linebacker U.
Looks like tough competition from in-state. I think, if we are serious about going after this guy, an invite to the summer architecture camp and of course meeting CTT and CPR would go a long ways to putting Auburn towards the top of this guys consideration. Ben Tate would be a good guy to keep him close to when he makes an official visit. Always good to have someone from the homestate, especially when its guy who has come down here and been given all the opportunities he was promised. |

I think we have just as good of a chance getting him as anyone else. We have so much to offer these young men. One thing is that when you sign with us, your
one step closer to making to the NFL.

If this guy can actually make it through architecture while playing football, I'll be EXTREMELY impressed. I had a few friends in that program while I was
at Auburn and there were times when they were working on a project and would have to crash at school for a few hours of sleep. That would be tough to do while
trying to play football. Does anyone know of any past or current players who have done it successfully?

Make it through Architecture Program | ||
|
The kid does have a 3.9 GPA. So he must be pretty sharp. Also, already turning down going to a Redskins game to study (work ethic). I think if anyone can
make it through the program and play football he's just the kind of guy to do it.

Unfortunately, Maryland also has a School of Architecture. Don't know how it compares with Auburn. Does anyone know where his dad got his Architecture
degree?
"Regardless of what you hear and read, we will have a football team next year. We've won six and we're working on seven." Coach Tommy
