But, at the same time the dems do not control 2/3 of the majority vote in congress......So, this means that at the time a bill is sent to the president....he has the option to sign or veto......right.
Question 1: Why is it that republicans constantly point the finger at the "democratic Congress" when in reality the "democratic congress" doesn't have the power to veto with a 2/3 majority vote any bill the president were to send back?
I read that Pres. Bush hasn't not exercised the veto option at all, being the first in modern history not to veto a bill.
Question 2: How is it so that the President then has nothing to do with passing bills and making them law? His signature is required within 10 days of the bill being set fourth in front of him, or he can veto and send it back to congress, and only with a 2/3 majority vote can congress overrule the veto. So wouldn't the president hold just as much blame?
These are only questions, and I'm trying to understand!
