Re:Toughest schedule in the country
amiznit wrote: I can't give you toughest in the country. It will be rough, especially with ASU, LSU and Auburn away. GT has a brand new coach and system, though,
and UGA mixes their home and away games nicely to give them a few breaks leading up to big games. Also, they somehow have two bye weeks in their schedule, one
b/t Bama and UT and the other b/t AU and GT.

The bye week | ||
|
is a good thing towards the end of the season. Provides both rest and two weeks to focus on the upcoming team. Early in the season the experience gained
outweighs the benefit of the week off. But toward the end of the season as the additional increase in expereince becomes less important and injuries/wear of
the season becomes more pronounced, the bye week can be very important. Take our 2006 season; we had two losses, one to Arky and one to GA. Both teams had
bye weeks before playing Auburn.
Our schedule prior to the GA game includes a bye week followed by a road trip to Ole Miss, a home game vs. UT Martin(which not to disparage UT Martin is essentially a scrimmage which will give us the opportunity to work on a few things and give some younger guys playing time) followed by the game when Georgia comes to town. I like our chances vs. the Dawgs this year.

West:
1. AU 10-2 WV, and one SEC team *some sort of let down game* 2. LSU 9-3 AU, UF, UGA 3. Bammer 8-4 4. Miss. St. 8-4 5.Ole Miss 6-6 6. Ark 5-7 East: 1. UGA 10-2 (losses to AU and another lesser SEC team *someone will upset them I think*) 2. UF 10-2 (loses to UGA and UT *its in knoxville*) 3. UT 9-3 4. USC 8-4 5. UK 6-6 6. Vandy 5-7 I see a rematch of us and UGA in the Sec Championship. |

Ole Miss...are you serious!?!?!
|
Yes
Champ: AU 10-2 We lose to GA in the regular season in a close game. We also lose to either Ole Miss, S. Miss (so early in the season, we may have problems on offense) or TN (I am having a tough time deciding if the Vols are finally going away this year, or if they'll be an 8-4 trouble maker, I'm betting 8-4). Confident wins:
Probable wins:
Possible losses:
2. Ole Miss 9-3 (LSU will beat them by years end or they'll be 2008's Georgia cleaning house & going to a good bowl game).
SEC Championship Game: AU or Ole Miss facing UGA If Auburn goes, Auburn wins.

This is an odd series. UGA has a winning record against us in Auburn.

I think if we play Georgia twice, we win one...

"How could you predict we lose to GA in the regular season, when "
"2. UGA faces us after murderer's row schedule" - well, I talked about that & noted the schedule. We are the cap to the toughest spot on their schedule, but if they make it to us with only 1 close loss in 10 games, I think they'll be on a roll facing & beating talented teams and we're gonna have a tough game. If they lose more than one of those, we have a better chance to beat them at AU because that means they have more kinks in their armor than I am seeing now. Then we may see FL or TN in the Championship game or lose a close one & meet again. About that schedule, it's really laid out well for GA. 2 cream puffs, then USC, AZ St & finally Alabama at home. I think all of those are winnable with the trap at AZ St., GA should be 5-0. Then we have TN in Athens after a bye week for Georgia followed by Vandy, 7-0. Now LSU in Baton Rouge is going to be tough, but I think the Tigers will have growing pains on offense so the Bulldogs should be able to pull this out 8-0. Then we go to their rivalry game. I am predicting a close loss to FL being the most likely if they lose any of their first 9; 8-1. They get to regroup against KY who won't lay down & die but who just won't beat the Dawgs next year, a "light" SEC game, 9-1. Then in AU, 2 strong teams facing off, 10-1. Finally Tech who most agree will lose 11-1. I think that's a very logical way for their schedule to play out.
"And then you turn around and belive we will come back to defeat them in Atlanta (which is darn near a home game for the dawgs)." - Already explained & again, Auburn does REALLY, REALLY well when playing in "hostile" environments. If you are going to point yet again at the venue, look at what AU did when going to FL or LSU (we had them against the ropes last year the whole game). This should make no difference. Plus, it's not like AU fans don't travel well or also live in Atlanta & B-ham, c'mon. They're will be a pretty even mix in the Georgia Dome. I don't get why of all the things I
said up there you question me on Georgia. Most predicting losses for Auburn next year point to this
game as a loss. Many also believe we may have a rematch in the SEC CG. I think Tubs plays better than ANY coach in those kinds of games, especially after going
at UGA once. Our coordinators will have faced them & learned what worked/didn't. We'll be coming off of # 7 (mark it down
