Now, Auburn is a fine representative for the State of Alabama. I just love poking holes in folks that want to ignore the history of UA, try and play like it never happened. Also, I love to poke holes in the barners that kid themselves into believing that UA now, is not the Shula UA.

just exactly how has auburn not played a roll in the national picture when it is widely accepted that the winner of the auburn - lsu and auburn florida games have had national impact. at one time, this was also said of the iron bowl... and will be again very soon as saban gets you guys in order. also, if auburn did not have national impact then we would not be the most televised team in espn history... or one of the most at the very least (the actual number of appearances escapes me atm but it was pointed out by them). i am not even going to go into auburn since the dawn of the pat dye era or shug jordan as far as national significance... i dont have to.

saying that auburn is a team to mark your calendar for is plain stupid. there are a number of teams that will attest to that. auburn has a much more nationally respectable history and reputation than you and the other less objective members of your fanbase want to give credit to. granted, it is not on the scale of alabama in a historical sense, but they were fortunate enough to have a legendary coach for a long period of time to help re-establish the tradition that folks such as Ears Whitworth nearly destroyed. bama is very deserving of their place in history, but auburn is equally deserving especially in light of competing against bryant and his stranglehold over football all those many years. he should have been able to send auburn into oblivion, but we maintained and caught back up. you seem to forget, or just dont know, that auburn along with alabama was one of the most formidable teams in the infancy of college football. the 70's were a little of a slide as were some times in the 30's and 40's, but as you well know... all great teams experience down times... however, it does not dampen your significance overall.
