Either way, if he finishes without incident, he'll be in the NFL, but with a lot less money. If McNair can do it from Alcorn, RP can do it from anywhere
(nowhere) also. If he can't keep his act together in a fresh start, shame on him.

kudos to The Hat for having the testicular fortitude to make the move... other coaches would have prescribed ice cream punishment in this case... there is
precedent (sp?).

Dang Kev, you are one funny guy. Only you can take an LSwho thread, and spin The University into it.
Remember, "keep it down home cuz" |

Paranoid? Saban and bama were not mentioned. He could have meant Fulmer or Carr or about any other coach who has a star player in trouble.

mabwriter wrote: nah... i guess ice cream gave it away... lol. honestly, it was in deed a poke at coaches in general who seem to have a lighter hand with star players. thanks for being open minded enough to see it! it is just coincidence that bama has had a few run ins with this lately ( the shula years ). that was one thing i respected about bama for a long time was that there was a great deal of discipline (ask Joe Namath). i think that as saban rights the ship more that he will institute a little more tough love. he is in kind of a precarious situation right now numbers wise. soon, both he and Tubs will be head to head the most disciplinarian coaches in the league in my honest opinion. silver, as far as "keep it down home cuz"... why reach back so far as the late eighties to early nineties? other than the new york times (their declining reputation speaks for itself), some disgruntled professor, and terry bowden (again, speaks for itself) trying to bring the program down (highly unsuccessfully might i add) that is about the last time we really did something worthy of punishment. to be honest, i felt at the time that if the program did something dirty and got caught, then they have to deal with the consequences. therefore, that really does not act as an insult. we had some good teams while we were on probation and did not use it as a crutch as some of your fan base choose to do now going on nearly a decade.it is really funny though that you feel every post i make is a personal attack at bama, seems you have skipped over several where i have spoken objectively and in highly positive terms about them... and definately moreso than you would ever venture to do so about auburn. even when you attempt objectivity, you do so very tounge in cheek or backhandedly which i do not. honestly, and the other bama fans on here (notice i did not refer to them as bammers) will attest to this, i enjoy rational discussion about bama and their history as well as that of auburn. that is, so long as auburn is handled in an equally rational, open minded manor. certainly i can make jokes and all, and enjoy doing so, but if you ever took a second to really think about them... they are really in effort to point out or ellaborate the irrational behavior of some of my fellow posters on here.
