I personally know 4 marines all in their 20's who are veterans of Iraq, each with multiple tours.
#1 is in a law enforcement related job. He started his own business cleaning up crime scenes and bio-hazardous sites. He has more business than he and his staff can handle. His business was the feature article in the Atlanta Journal business section in April. He was one of Biz Jr's childhood friends, a great and very smart young man. This is a link to his company's (Biotrauma)web site

#2 is a commercial real estate manager who manages retail properties. I am currently looking at some land to co-invest with him. UGA business school graduate. Son of missionaries to Equador
#3 Is a real estate broker. Alpharetta Ga., BS - UGA, MBA - UGA
#4 AU Graduate - Electrical Engineering, Huntsville Alabama engineering firm
All wanted to do something exceptional in their lives and joined the Marines before starting their non-military careers. None suffered major injuries while in Iraq. Iraq and Afghanistan aren't Viet Nam. This is a volunteer military that produces a lot of quality young men. The damn press has a negative mental paradigm about people who serve in the military. What we have is a US Military of volunteer heros who want to do great things. What the press wants them to be is a bunch of rag tag draftees from Apocalypse Now
