Thought I would compare ALA and Fla athletes |

I love this state, but there is such a huge difference in what we perceive as good, and what Fla does. I looked at the results for the recent state track meet
and found this interesting. In this state the fastest time I saw in the 100m, was 10.78. Compare this to Auburn signee Harry Adams' 10.2, which was good
enough for second in his county meet in FLA. I truly think we will be good as long as we keep hitting FLA and GA looking for recruits, and not dwell on
instate recruiting if it comes down to a big battle. BTW 10.5 is a good time in the 100m, anything higher is pretty average for most of the larger states.

We may not have as many as Florida does but, we do turn out our share of very good to top recruits in our state.

i love that we have good roots in fla... you take our 15th best player, and they may rank 50th in florida, they just have so many athletes compared to us. the
100th best player out of florida would be a 5 star recruit in this state. i say that knowing we yearly have some great players... we just do not have the
sheer number of players.

I talked to a bammer yesterday who told me his sources said that there are 5, 5 star recruits in the state of Alabama who are all probable bammer signees...
We are way out in left field on this recruiting stuff......... |

bama has been retroactively awarded the number one recruiting class for every year in recorded history... going back to when Moses was playing at running
back... it was said he could part defenders like the red sea.

You know he was also a 5 star LB. Line parting came in handy.

old secret buddy buddy hush world out there where 5 star recruits are hiding under rocks until signing day. Holy crap!, how did nobody know about this guy???
Well.....he was being hidden in the basement til signing day rolled around to make sure he choose the right program.

Considering Florida has 18 million people and Alabama has 4.5 they should have 4 times as many DiV 1 athletes and there for that many more 5 star athletes as
well

My point being, that it is better to have pipelines for recruiting in FLA or GA, than here. I don't think there is enough D1 talent in ALA to sustain even
one D1 school, let alone 4. Boasting about a coach having a lock on instate talent, doesn't mean much, when that state isn't exactly loaded. Even
Louisiana has more D1 talent, on a yearly basis, than ALA. and the populations are roughly equivalent.

TPT that may be perception since LSU has first pick on all the kids there and the other schools are not signing the big name kids. It is the state school and
does not have another BCS conference school in the state. Florida is probably more crowded for recruiting than Louisiana and LSU has a good reach into Texas
and into the MObile area and the panhandle. Alabama may have the same number of 1A athletes but they are spread out over more schools. RUssell and Jackson were
both from Mobile and Alabama boys that signed with LSU>

I'm not hatin' on the ALA. athletes | ||

Just the perception by the media in particular, that AU must do well in state to succeed. We haven't, at least in my lifetime, ever signed the most, or
best in state talent, and if that is all we could sign, we couldn't compete nationally.
