- TOW, I think you get picked on a bit much & I know your passion for AU is what fuels your sometimes outragous posts. But what you wrote here is not only untrue, it's also a pretty un-Auburn way to speak about an alumnus who worked hard at AU. From what I've heard, Patrick did work hard & was not skipping classes or taking things easy. The football staff checks attendance & study hall hours VERY regularly. Trahan needed special help. His fault in this is that he didn't make that more clear to his position coach & Tubs. Auburn's fault (yes TOW, Auburn shares some responsibility in this) is in how they handled the situation when his mother visited & in not ensuring that Trahan's learning disability was being effectively addressed. I actually don't think this article suggests AU ignored him, he even says he had tutoring, but the way they dealt with the problem in that meeting doesn't sound too good. They probably could have responded better. Hopefully now, they review special needs players more closely and ensure they get the help they need.

Calling someone a liar & then making untrue claims that he was unmotivated & not working is not cool. Don't bash a player because things didn't work out, especially someone who was (and may deep down still be) an Auburn man at one time. From his comments, I think Trahan really loved AU and regrets everything that transpired. I hope he has a lot of success & makes it to the NFL.
