Pittsburg dominating this draft... |
Lead | |

my Titans have stunk it up. 1 pick away from Mendenhall and Sweed. I think Mendenhall is the best pro-style runningback in the class. McFadden was better
overall but Mendenhall is going to be a load. Whats up with Chris Johnson in the 1st round for the Titans? He does run a 4.24 40 but why do the Titans continue
to draft workout warriors? Again no receiver to help Vince. They will get 1 or 2 today that will never be any better than a slot or #2 guy. Should have gotten
Devin Thomas. WTF!!!!

They drafted Johnson too high, but I think he will be good. Y'all don't have a good RB...Johnson is a good sleeper choice at RB. I don't like my
Falcons draft either. I think the Chiefs have done the best job though.
I like the Redskins drafting 3 good WR's to help out our boy Jason. |

Pitt did a good job. Kansas City had the best draft. Atlanta reached on their picks though. Look out for Dallas, their draft was really good

took a wimp QB with an O line in disarray. They should have taken Dorsey or traded down and built an offensive and defensive line. Come back for a QB next
year or if they really just had to draft one this year, they could have come back in round 5 and gotten Erik Ainge; would be just as good as Ryan. Things
are not going to change there for the better overnight anyway.

I think the Titans have reached on a few picks the last couple years. I think johnson could be a nice addition to the offense, but the Titans draft didn't
wow me at all. I was pretty pissed when they didn't take their pick of receivers in round 1.

Come back for a QB next yearThere won't be much depth at the QB position at all in next year's draft, unless a Stafford comes out early. |

Next year's QBs | ||

There are always highly touted QBs. Wait till this time next year. Next Year's Prospects: In addition to Matthew Stafford: If he comes out early you may also have Colt McCoy from Texas come out a year early. I would take either over Matt Ryan in
a heartbeat.
others that may be good as well. Pat White WV, Max Hall BYU and Rudy Carpenter ASU and then whoever is QB from the Trojans will get some hype. In General, QBs receive the most scouting attention and also happen to be the position at which scouts make the wrong decision on more often than any other
position.

Eric Ainge and Dennis Dixon are a reach if you are gonna be drafting a franchise QB. I believe Brian Brohm is gonna be the best QB in this draft. Brian Brohm
was way more consistent in his career than Ryan. Grant it Brohm played in the Big East and had much better talent around him than Ryan. Brohm has also been
known to be very injury prone. But also Matt Ryan has proven to have ice water in his veins. It's a risk/reward move by Atlanta, as is every other QB
picked early in the draft. You don't really go into the draft expecting to pick a franchise QB really past the 2nd round.

I agree that Ainge is a reach, but I think he is just as good as Matt Ryan (I know a lot of folks will differ). Brohm, I think is better.
The main point I had, with the offensive line problems at Atlanta, it is not a good time to go for a top QB. They should have had two top picks(1st and 2nd rounders) on the OL and then if someone special is available take him, if not wait till next year. Unfortunately, the Falcons organization is having to play politics. They want to get a QB in this year, so that when Vick gets released from the dog pen, they can say Matt is our guy, and there will be no or less controversy about whether or not to bring Vick back. I know Arthur Blank is not about to bring Vick back to the Falcons, but there are quite a few Falcons fans that want him back. If they can establish someone else as "the man behind the center" it will put the Vick issue to rest. At least that is where I think they are coming from. From the strategic best way to build a team, they have made a mistake. The Jets would have been the best team for a guy like Ryan to go to. They just drafted 3 big O lineman either last year or year before last. Protection is key to bringing in a rookie QB. Unless you are bringing in a good running/scrambling QB like Vick, Young or Tarkenton. BTW Jaguars got a good guy there with Groves. Also, the pick of Harvey I think was a stretch. They definitely are looking to increase the pass rush against the Mannings and Brady. |

Yeah I agree they have to sure up that line, but from what I see the Falcons have many needs, the draft was pretty deep with linemen, but the Falcons need
defense as much as they need an O-line, bringing in a bunch of rookie O-linemen is not really gonna help a QB of the future. They drafted good with
linebackers, which is what Mike Smith works good with(look at him with the Jags last year). They needed secondary help and they got it. You can find interior
O-linemen anywhere, the biggest positions on the O-line are tackles, and they got a damn good one with Baker.
At first glance I thought Harvey was a stretch too(especially looking at all the picks the Jags gave up), but the only real aspect of the game that they needed desperately was Pass Rush. and that's all they really wanted and that's what they got. In that division you have to have a great pass rush. I'm so excited they got Groves, and the Jags were the team that talked to him the least.
