YOU KNOW IT WAS CHRIS AND BOYS THAT KEPT US OUT OF THE NATIONAL CHAMP GAME IN 04 AND NOW THEY PUT LSU AND FLA. IN IT TO MAKE UP FOR THEIR LACK OF FOOTBALL

I think it all started with what happened in '04. They knew they messed up but don't want to own up to it. I compare it to someone who steals from you,
and you catch them, but they still give you an attitude as if it was justified because they're too ashamed to admit they were wrong. What I think made it
worse was when Tubs said what he did at the club meeting or whatever it was.
I don't hold the same hatred for ESPN that most of you do, as I feel most of them are good people, they just have their picks at the beginning of the season and usually keep with them, minus a few exceptions depending on how the year turns out, nothing wrong with that. However I do see college FB as the only sport out of the ones I follow on that network where I see blatant favoritism. Herbstreit's about the only one I actually can't stand, and it has nothing to do with Auburn, he does it with every team he doesn't pick and is a pompous %%+#@%$!% on TV. Anyone remember the infamous "WTF" face he made to Corso during the '04 pre-season special when he picked us to win the SEC? However if someone were to sit down and talk with him privately, I'm sure it'd be a fair conversation. If I'm not mistaken I think he talks to Tubs once a week during the regular season. I don't see them coming to Auburn anytime soon unless it's for the UGA or LSU game, and I don't care what ya'll say, but I'd still like to see them come and see them in the national spotlight for a day. |

ESPN hates anyone but the choosen few or the underdog teams that one great year every 20 years. They hate the sec they always have sports writers also dislike
the sec. The pac 10 and big 12 have these writers so far up there A$$ its not even funny. I watch espn for the games not there commentary before or after cause
i now that they are so biased against the SEC. It also doesnt help that they have contracts with other leagues and they want them to have good ratings.

Maybe it's just me...but I say keep hatin', I believe Auburn always plays better when our back is agaisnt the wall and we're not ranked well. It
seems everytime we start the season ranked high, we get too cocky and knocked a notch by losing some stupid games. I think Tommy T. does a good job with
motivating our team and getting them to go out there and prove who we really are. All of the media bullcrap sports guys like Herbie, the media darling
schools, and other crap is just another reason to go to a playoff system. No coach should have to go on national TV and have to "plead their case"
to play in the national championship game, that's idiotic. Everything should be proved on the field, no more no less.
But guys/gals, let's face it...Even though people like Herbie and Corso will never admit it, but behind closed doors they know Auburn got bent over raw in 2004. Which means given the situation again, I believe we would be given a pass and voted into the national championship game, if we are in a position like in 2 or 3. But that's only a one-time free pass and we DANG sure gotta be ready to win that game, because unless we're #1 after that year in the future, it will sure of a heck be a lot harder to get voted into the game. That's why so many of us on here and in everyday discussions call it a "MYTHICAL" National Championship...
