Hey Grad | ||

I've never been either, but my mother in law goes all the time. She loves it, and usually wins a dollar or two.

i'm thinking.... | ||

that if I send the kids to the beach, me and the Mrs. can head over to the casino...
i spotted (on vrbo.com) a couple of condos on the beach, within walking distance to the casino... the condos should be new-ish (so it says) with all of them being wiped out by Katrina.... hmmm

BIloxi is all right. there is an outlet mall in Gulfport so Mrs. Grad can go spend your winnings. I have not been there since Katrina so I am no help on
accomodations but if you are going to gamble they usually have special deals if you stay on site. the Beaches are not as nice as the Gulf SHores as they are
narrow and dont have any dunes to speak of. It is not as touristy though and you wont have to fight as many people as you would at Gulf Shores, Destin, Panama
City.

biloxi + kids? | ||
|
gotta be honest...even though there's a beach....when i think of biloxi kids are not involved. I don't have any for that matter, but when I think of
biloxi I think of a long weekend of gambling, drinking binge, more gambling, and a buffet. Orange Beach is where my sister and family go each summer. No
gambling of course.

we go to Oange Beach....

or Ft. Morgan every year and we were just looking for something a little different.....
As far as kids go, mine are 19 and 16 so they aren't quite kids.....

There's not much in Biloxi
|
except casinos
Your kids would have a lot better time in Gulf Shores (there would be a lot more people for them to meet) but if you do come to Biloxi and your 19 year old is a girl, I know somebody who can keep her entertained |

Biloxi is convenient and slightly above average, IMO. I've never taken the kids but I would imagine there's stuff for them to do. In the casinos, I
have always noted there is a LARGE number of what I would call pathetic losers trolling around, in comparison to Vegas. Juts not quite as classy as Sin City,
but it's also less expensive and less of a hassle for us Southerners to get to, so I'd say it gets the job done.

No sports book in Biloxi. Nevada is the only state where it's legal right now (I'm pretty sure of this). I was told in Vegas that there was a real push
being organized to legalize it in Mississippi but I ain't holdin' my breath if you know what I mean.
Grad, you should check out the Mexico Beach area. It's a great beach that isn't too commercial (yet) and is only 45 minutes from Panama City.
