Bus, that's a horrible situation and I feel for the victim's family and the shooter...But it's an accident and accidents happen everyday. I just believe that accidents with guns get more attention. Accidents are bound to happen. People are accidentally hurt by all type of things and situations. What about the MLB 3rd base coach that was killed last year by a line drive to his head, people are accidentally injured by cars (not involving alcohol or drugs), kids die playing sports, etc... In each situation there is someone who is ultimately repsonsible for that death. Like the batter who hit the ball, the coach who pushed the high school kid too far or was unaware of a heart condition or a health condition was undiagnosed. That coach was not acting maliciously, but I know its hard to accept but that coach is responsible. He's the one that kept pushing that kid telling him to run or whatever.

Now as far as the victim not being injured as long you comply with his demands...Look at recent events. The guy who murdered the Auburn student. Horrible situation. I live in Phenix City, AL where that guy had previously committed armed robbery in the Wal-Mart parking lot on three different women, differnet days, different occasions. He had also committed armed robbery in Columbus and Newnan, Ga. Then he wound up driving to Auburn and kidnapping this young woman and would up shooting her in the head. SO maybe y'all are right, the felon only committed murder 1 out of 6 times. But what about that ONE time? What about that one person? What if that's your daughter or wife or sister? But he did eventually escalated to rape and murder. I just dont see how if a gun is to your head, how is that not a last resort? If you wait until he makes the first move or fires first, then you are dead. But yes, I believe that I am the judge and jury in that situation. I am still held accountable for my actions. When police show up, they will investigate. If they believe I acted maliciously or without provocation, then they have the right to press charges agaisnt me. Then I will have to face a judge and jury.

I think the terrorists fed of this in the 9/11 attacks. In the past, terrorists had never really done in any damage after hi-jacking a plane. The terrorists knew that we would not fight back. They knew the passengers would just assume the plane would be diverted somewhere, but in the end they would be safe, so no one fought back. It wasn't until United 93 learned of the other planes being crashed that the passengers decided to act. Are y'all saying that those passengers should have sat idly by and let the terrorists crash the plane wherever they saw fit? Because in essence, those passengers didn't have the authority to be judge and jury of those hi-jacking the plane?
