for AU this fall.
Ever since Chris Todd signed with AU, I've been excited. All the press clippings and quotes from CTF have been very promising. You know, you've heard a lot about the accuracy, the coolness in the pocket, the familiararity with the spread, etc., etc., etc.
You've also read a lot about the shoulder injury, and how in CTF's estimation, Todd is only about 60% this spring. You infer from CTF's quotes in the papers that he believes a 100% healthy Todd will win the starting job. At least I have inferred that from CTF.
Now, I didn't see any of Wednesday evening's scrimmage, and I think Todd must have had a pretty good practice, BUT, based on A-day, at this time I see Kodi Burns as the guy that gives Auburn the best chance of having a great season. Kodi is much improved now, much better than the bowl win over Clemson. He'll improve much more over the summer and through fall camp. After watching A-day, now I believe truly that Kodi is our guy.
It's a real positive to have Chris Todd on our team, and Caudle too. Both are talented. And from what I've heard, Todd is a real team player and has
helped Kodi a lot. He'll get his snaps, and we need him......But Kodi Burns is gonna light it up real soon.
Other impressions from A-day:
Tommy Trott is going to be a MAJOR force for AU this year in this offense.
Josh Bynes is a monster and will be all SEC soon.
Chris Slaughter is a stud receiver.
AU's offensive line will be as good as anybody's in the SEC.
Auburn's Defense will be as good as any they've had in many years.
In 2009, Auburn will be absolutely loaded for bear, probably the most talented Auburn team ever.
