Pobably an old question, but I was wondering about 2004... |

I was wondering why Auburn wouldn't get a share of the NC for 2004 if USC does get in trouble for the Reggie Bush crap? All I have heard is that for some
reason, Auburn wouldn't get anything...

The title would be vacated | ||

They wouldn't award a title retroactively, unless they're BAMA.

Wouldn't OU be awarded the title? They were in the NC game and if USC forfeits their wins then OU = champ. Unless you can see it as USC forfeiting ALL
their wins then it would have been OU vs. Auburn...

I would think that Oklahoma would have the stronger claim as USC and OU were ranked #1 and #2. USC's victory over OK would not count or would be
forfeited. Therefore OK would move up to #1. If USC had been caught and punished before the MNC game then maybe Auburn would have had a chance to win it on
the field. Any way you look at it, we're left out. I to doubt that a new MNC will be named though.

Well actually Auburn finished in the AP poll as #2 that year, so we ended higher ranked than OU did. OU was #3 in the final polls. But from what I hear, they
will just have no one as the N.C. for 2004 if USC does get the title stripped.

The football national championship for D1 is not officially sanctioned by the NCAA. The AFCA is the organization that awards the BCS football championship.
They would have to make a determination if they so chose to do so.

Does anyone really want a retroactive championship? I mean c'mon, we're Auburn not UAT.

We should share the 04 NC with Okla. As for little usc, screw them.

Absolutely we got screwed. Hell, we didn't even get kissed first, but that doesn't mean I want us running around claiming the 2004 championship.
It's so bammer like.
