"I have not received any offers yet," said Daniel Drummond. "Right now I am receiving interest from Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Alabama, Georgia Tech and Auburn. There are a lot of other schools sending mail, but those are the main schools."

"I went to Georgia Tech's Junior Day. I am going to Vanderbilt for their Junior Day, and I am going to Notre Dame's spring game. I have been invited to about 10 or 12 other ones, but I haven't scheduled any other dates."

Drummond talked about his Junior Day visit with the Yellow Jackets.

"The visit to Georgia Tech was good," he said. "I liked it. We saw the dorms, and they were really nice. We got to meet the new coach [Paul Johnson]. I never met him before. He is a really cool guy. I met my recruiting coach as well, coach [Jeff] Monken. It was good to meet him."

"I like Georgia Tech. They treat you like family. Everyone is really nice to you. It's just seems like it's a real tight bond up there. It seems like a good team to play for."

Georgia Tech has Drummond's attention, but one SEC program does as well.

"I have been to Georgia Tech the most, and it's close to home. Georgia Tech and Auburn are probably my top two schools. I am really trying to stay open minded," he said.

"I have grown up as an Auburn fan. My dad went to school there. It's just the school I was brought up on."

Drummond recorded 102 tackles and averaged six yards per carry as a fullback during his junior season. The talented playmaker is recruited for more than one position.

"Georgia Tech is recruiting me to play fullback in the triple option. Most other schools are recruiting me as a middle linebacker. I really don't have a preference. I like playing either way," he stated.

When asked about strengths and what he hopes to improve Drummond replied, "I am 6-foot-3, 230-pounds and can run a 4.5 forty. I am fast, and I can hit pretty good. I am a good lead blocker. I hardly ever miss a tackle."

"I am trying to improve everything. I moved to a new school this year. I was at West Hall last year. I will have to go in to a new type of offense and defense. I will have to learn a whole new system."

Drummond is seeking his first scholarship offer, but knows what he will consider when making a decision.

"I will probably base my decision on distance from home," he said. "I will look at the depth chart and see how soon I will be able to play. I want to see if the school has a good program for what I plan to major in. I am already taking classes for Business Management."

The Georgia linebacker is incredibly strong and has qualified for the Junior National in Olympic lifting. He plans to attend the event in Orlando, (Fla.).
