Questions regarding 4 prospective recruits:
|
Tigerman,
Thank you, I was wondering about who were lining up for next year. I have several questions about some of our prospects, answer what you have time for. Of course, anybody else chime in if you have some intel. 1)        Caleb King: running back, Lilburn, GA. Describe this runner, that name sounds familiar. Is this guy a potential redshirt? Do you think having Ben Tate and Lester will keep him away? Any other Running Backs Auburn is high on for 2007? 2)        Stefan Loucks: QB Little Rock, Ark. I thought the plan was for Ensingmer to Gray shirt for 2006, and for Caudle to redshirt and then slip in as number two (unless Fields keeps improving), this guy has skills, do you think a forceable full cupboard at QB will keep him away? Any other darkhorse QB candidates? Is he a potential receiver threat? 3)        Eltoro Freeman & Jonathan Birmingham. Whats the story on these two, are they AU fans? What other linebackers are on the radar. |

Alright.... | ||
|
First off King; he is the top running back on our list no doubt about it. He will be one of the top 3-4 running backs in the county and will also be a 5-star when the rankings come out. He is sub 6ft about a 190 and blazing speed. I guess you can say a more Caddy back. Can cut on a dime and leave you in the dust. We were his leader early in the process and he has been to numerous camps at AU as well as games last year. He was just offered by Southern Cal, but even with the total national exposure I still have a feel that its going to be a AU/UGA battle. As for redshirt I couldnt tell you, waaaaaay to early. With the stable of rb's we have it would turn him away, and Lester and him went to the same school which they have stayed in constant contact with each other which will help in the end imo. The other top rb's on the list would be Johnathan Dwyer, Chris Rainey, Broderick Green, Cameron Harris, & Enrique Davis.
Loucks; he definitely qb potential all the way. He has some monster numbers but thats due to his offensive playlist that has some nasty 5-wides. Broderick Green is his running back so they are a great combo. Ensminger might grayshirt, yet to be seen. I just mentioned that since his dad was a worker than it could hold an extra scholly up for a year. Loucks and Cameron Newton are our top two qb candidates with Loucks the only one holding a qb offer at this point since there will only be 1 taken. It will take some effort to pull him out of Arkansas but like King the stable of players at one position wont affect him. Freeman; is most likely the top linebacker in the state of Alabama and is right in our backyard in Alexander City. He is a hard hitter and very quick 40 time around a 4.5. We have offered him. And an offer will most likely come to Birmingham also. Birmingham is a teamate of Freeman and while he boast some big numbers we will wait and see since he is kinda under the radar a little with no offers as of yet. Freeman ive heard grew up as a bama fan but AU is pushing him so hard I dont see this being a issue right now since he is very high on AU as in Birmingham. The other top prospects that have offers from us are Carlton Johnson, Rolando McClain(might be the top lb in state over Eltoro), Rennie Curran, Earl Patin, & Albert Craddock(unc soft commit). Claytor; just picked up an offer from the coaches this weekend. He is a smart kid that looks to be a full qualifier right now. Also happens to be HUGE, roughly 6'7" and almost at 320lbs. He is definitely one of the top 5 ol the coaches are after at this time. The video ive seen of him in a couple emails he locks down the outside defensive line guys. He is one of my favorite OT prospects and no doubt would be happy since this position is the top concern of the coaches. We will need 3 top guys atleast, so look at us signing 3-5 for the 07 class. |

We seem to have a stock pile of young TE's. With the one already committed, how many more are they pursueing?
|

The coaches are looking at a handful of TE prospects
|
however Woods seems to be right now the only true TE they will sign. The other TE's they are recruiting are projected to be playing DE at the next level. These are a couple they have offered; Jordan Hammond & Bruce Figgins.

Tigerman, read a report that said he was in Auburn this weekend, are the coaches working with the soccer coaches to bring this kid to AU, he sounds amazing, what's the skinny.
