Even the people who hired him was told was a terrible move. Now we MUST get on the ball and bring in a REAL HEAD COACH who knows what the heck he's doing out there.

This was a terrible coaching move when it happened and many knew it. There should be no 1 more year, Slater is horrible and that will likely happen. There is pressure for a change in the department. If a change is not made this year then it will show that more people than I know already don't care about the future of AU baseball.

This guy has been here too long. He was a loser when he was hired and he is a loser now. It's time for Jay Jacobs to get his head out of his arse and hire a head coach with proven credentials. Anybody that thinks that this guy should be retained needs serious help. Getting to the SEC tournament should be a given. We haven't been in 5 years. It's time for a change.

we need to fire all faculty and staff, coaches, kitchen help, contractors, landscapers, the city and county governing officials, and the board of trustees. apparently TOW is the only person capable of bringing change to the Plains. YES HE CAN!!! YES HE CAN!!! YES HE CAN!!!

thats the great thing about baseball. You could be a 5 foot 8 150 lb 2nd baseman and if you put in the work and have the god given eye it takes to play baseball you can make it. Now show me where Slater made the wrong move with pitching. Or decided to swing away instead of bunt and we will talk. Fact is you are a fair weather fan who is always calling for the head coaches head. Never ever EVER could the team just not be that GOOD. Nope if Auburn ever loses at anything its the coaches fault....

BullHubbs says keep Slater for another year. What do the rest of you say? You know how I feel. Remember he han't done anything to get us back on top since he was hired 4 years ago. In fact, the team has getten worse.

If he doesn't get it going in '09 then he may need the boot. Baseball is actually one sport where coaching and its decisions influence a great deal of the game. More so than in any other sport. We have good hitting (somewhat) and a decent pitching staff. No excuses other than time. So I say we wait and give him 1 more shot. JMO
