I bought many of those on vhs. Hearing Heston's voice narrate, with the setting of the Holy land, was quite inspiring. I still have the tapes in my garage somewhere.

One thing I do regret: years ago, one could see the infomercials about "Charleton Heston reads the Bible". He read the Bible while visiting and showing all the Biblical places in Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Jordan River, Mediterranean See, Dead Sea, Tigris and Euphrates (which I had the interesting fortune of visiting 5 years ago) Rivers, and other Biblical...

Bren El Cid is a classic and I have some Taiwanese version but they have just remastered it in the States so you should be able to get a good version when you get back here. I bet even Netflix will have it and it used to be hard to find. It is one of my favorite Heston movies and the type movie they dont make anymore. Heston was probably in more epic films than any other actor The Ten Commandments, BEn Hur, and El Cid all qualify in my book.

Great american is right and he will be sorely missed and it will be interesting to see who becomes the new voice of the NRA. He was in some great movies though and played a lot of larger than life figures Moses, Gordon, but also did a lot of science fiction.
