We have a former president who stopped crime with a gun (Reagan). Of course it was in the 30's but it is detailed in Michael Reagan's book "City
on a HIll". I think BUsh is smarter than he is given credit for being he is just inarticulate ( think LEs Miles). Unfortunately being President is not all
about intellligence. I think Carter was pretty smart intellectually and we all know what happened on his watch and Nixon was brilliant but let his paranoia get
the best of him....

tpt, we totally agree on 2nd ammendment rights. In fact, I think current federal gun laws are too restrictive, although I've never been in a position that
I felt threatened to a point I feel the need to carry a weapon on my person.

Gun owner's are screwed when it comes to this election - all of the 3 major candidates are no friends of gun owners. Surprisingly, McCain has sponsored
some of the most restrictive gun control laws ever put before Congress.

I carry a weapon(sometimes) and I feel that doing so, makes it much less likely that I will be a victim. That is something the anti-gun lobby wouldn't want
you to know. Armed citizens can prevent many of the crimes we see, it's time to get out of the "victim" mentalility. As for Mccain, he isn't

protect my family, and unless some one gives up quickly after a warning, I would shoot. It's not something I would want to do, but it is my responsibility.

Redskins wish Sean Taylor had a gun on him when his home was broken into. NO situation is perfect and no one answer is the right one for every situation. It is
a tragedy the boy lost his life but he was probably inebriated being he tried to enter the wrong apartment so he may not have been a totally innocent victim in
